Julie Elizabeth Smith and Evan Wilhelm Jahn were married Saturday in Chicago. The Rev. Danielle Thompson, an Episcopal priest, performed the ceremony at St. Chrysostom’s Church.
Mrs. Jahn, 34, owns JSE Design Group, an interior design company in Chicago. She graduated from Denison University in Ohio. She is on the board of Chicago Children’s Charities, a nonprofit group which contributes to organizations in the Chicago area that helps finance after-school and fine-arts programs as well as summer camps.
She is the daughter of Gregory C. Smith of Birmingham, Mich, and the late Michele E. Smith. Her father is the president of New Center Stamping, a company in Detroit that makes automobile parts.
The bride is a stepdaughter of Shelley Smith.
Mr. Jahn, 33, is an environmental analyst in Chicago at Howard Ecker & Company, a commercial real estate concern. He graduated from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y., and received a master’s degree in environmental management and sustainability from Illinois Institute of Technology.
He is the son of Deborah Jahn and Helmut Jahn of Chicago. His father, the architect, is president and chief executive officer of the Chicago firm Murphy/Jahn.
