B-25s gather for raider reunion

BRIEFING

Twenty restored B-25 Mitchells powered into the sky above Wright-Patterson AFB on April 18 as the feature attraction of the 70th, and possibly last, Doolittle Raiders Reunion. Four of five surviving Raiders were on hand, including 96-year-old Richard Cole, who told the crowd he never expected the raid to make him a legend. “We all shared the same risk,” Cole noted. “We had no realization of the positive effect of our mission.”
